World’s first Android mobile phone seen running Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0

Popular Windows Phone and Android developer's forum xda-developers.com has had one of its members port the very latest version of the Google mobile phone OS, to the three-year-old HTC G1 mobile phone.
Xda-developers.com member jcarrz1 has managed to get Android ‘Ice Cream Sandwich' 4.0 running on the HTC G1 from 2008, with the touchscreen, data, apps and ICS goodies being noted as working well.
The HTC G1 or Dream mobile shipped on the 22nd of October in the USA, or 30th November in 2008 with T-Mobile - as a slider mobile phone, with a full Qwerty keyboard and a 3.2-inch touch screen, whilst powered by a 528MHz processor with only 192MB of RAM.
HTC's first Android handset arrived running Android 1.0, which was updated at a later date to 1.5 and then 1.6 - a far cry away from ICS.
The forum member has stated that some aspects of the port across to the G1 aren't working all that well, such as the WIFI, Bluetooth and the screen rotation.
Jcarrz1 used the Android Alpha 1 release of Ice Cream Sandwich which was made available by the Internet search engine giant earlier on this month, when Google released the source code
