Sony did not announce any new smartphone at the recently held Mobile World Congress 2013 apart from the Xperia Z, which it had already demoed at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this year. However, a new rumour suggests Sony may be readying another smartphone, to be launched in mid-2013. Codenamed the C670X, the smartphone is said to feature Android 4.2, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 chipset with 1.8GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
The leaked specifications of the come from a tipster via Xperia Blog. The leaks suggest the Sony C670X will have a 4.8-inch 1080p screen and a 13MP Exmor RS camera. The tipster also provided a rendered image of the Sony Xperia C670X. The device is expected to measure 133.7 x 70.1mm (no thickness figures were leaked) and will have no physical buttons on the front.
The alleged image does not reveal if the C670X has a glass influence like the Xperia Z or uses aluminium. The ear speaker, however, looks to similar to what we’ve seen on the Xperia Z and ZL. From the rendered image, we can expect the rumoured smartphone to come with a front-facing camera , notification light, light sensor and proximity sensor.
